My name is Eli West.
I am a Denver based Mixed Media Fiber Artist. This means I work largely with sheep and alpaca fiber to create wet/needle felted pieces. I also use a lot of upcycled dryer lint and other found fibers. Recently I have been experimenting with coffee and wine stains, along with making my own adhesives. I also uses paints, found objects/trash, tracing paper and pretty much whatever I can get my hands on. Most of my visual work is made in conjunction with writing exercises- which can sometimes manifest as performance art, poetry, zines or just as words which fill my journal.
My artistic practice is an ever evolving experiment in textures and shapes.
I am currently a member of the NEXT gallery in the Navajo Arts District in the Highlands neighborhood of Denver. We have monthly openings, weekly workshops and a whole hell of a lot to offer the community. Come check us out! I usually have a few pieces up in the small works gallery towards the back.
